Mucho Más Gold
Some wines follow the rules. Mucho Más rewrites them. Mucho Más Gold is the top of the range: the same rule-breaking spirit, dressed in a gold-embossed label and given time in oak. Made by Félix Solís Avantis, one of Spain's most acclaimed wineries, it has collected four gold medals and 90 points from the World's Best Sommelier. It costs less than nine euros.
Description
What Makes Mucho Más Gold So Special?
Where the original Mucho Más is built for everyday drinking, Gold is built for the table you set properly. It is a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Syrah, aged in American oak barrels, which is where the toasted, balsamic depth comes from.
The result keeps the generous, fruit-forward character that made the range a bestseller across Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK, and adds structure, length and a finer tannin.
Tasting Notes: Intense, Structured and Balsamic
- Appearance: Very intense cherry red with ruby hints
- Nose: Red and black fruit, plum and bramble, with violets and fine toasted oak
- Palate: Powerful and fresh on entry, rounded and generous through the middle, with firm tannins and good acidity
- Finish: Long, with a consistent balsamic base over mineral notes
If you enjoy Mucho Más Red, Rioja Reserva or a structured Ribera del Duero, Gold is the step up you were looking for.
An Award-Winning Spanish Red Wine
Mucho Más Gold has been awarded gold at Mundus Vini, the Sakura Awards, the Berliner Wine Trophy and Vinespaña, and scored 90 points in the Andreas Larsson tasting. Very few wines under ten euros carry a trophy cabinet like this one.
Food Pairing: What to Serve with Mucho Más Gold
- Tapas and starters
- Mature and cured cheeses
- Slow-cooked stews and casseroles
- Roast and grilled red meat
- Iberian pork and chorizo
It is a wine that rewards a proper meal, but it will not turn its nose up at a Tuesday.
How to Serve Mucho Más Gold
Serve at 14–16 °C, slightly cooler than room temperature, so the fruit and freshness come through. Open it twenty minutes before pouring and use a large glass.
About the Producer: Félix Solís Avantis
Founded in Valdepeñas in 1952, Félix Solís Avantis is one of Spain's largest and most respected family-owned wineries, exporting to more than 115 countries. Mucho Más was their answer to a simple question: what happens to Spanish red wine when you stop worrying about tradition and focus entirely on flavour. Gold is that answer, aged in oak.
